Hello Beauties! I have another super fresh and easy Beauty Detox recipe assignment for you. This one was inspired by Kimberly Snyder’s Raw Dijon-Hempseed Lettuce Wraps. These Asian Guacamole Lettuce Wraps make a satisfying snack after drinking my morning Glowing Green Smoothie or a refreshing, light lunch.
Guacamole is something that we ALWAYS have in our fridge. It is such a healing food!
Avocados provide nearly 20 essential nutrients, including Vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, folic acid, and potassium. They are rich in monounsaturated fat (MUFAs). Studies show that eating MUFAs improves blood cholesterol levels, and may help insulin levels and blood sugar control. They also contain lots of fiber to promote on going cleansing and waste removal and act as a “nutrient booster” by promoting the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. The onion and garlic in guacamole provides antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Both are excellent to cleanse the blood and cut mucus. You can double this Asian Guacamole recipe and store in your fridge to make quick work of these Lettuce Wraps or use to top salad or a veggie burger.
Hemp seeds are a complete source of protein. Just 3 tablespoons provides 10 grams of protein! They contain one of nature’s most concentrated plant sources of essential fatty acids including Omega 3 & 6. Hemp seeds also contain high amounts on gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) which eases inflammation and supports fat burning and a healthy metabolism.
Nutritional yeast is a vegan’s best friend. I crave it! It is another complete source of protein. Three tablespoons provides 9 grams of protein and more than the recommended daily value of B vitamins. It is also an excellent source of minerals. Because of this, Kimberly often recommends nutritional yeast for beautiful, healthy hair. You can find it at your local health food store and sometimes in the bulk bin section of natural markets like Whole Foods.
